Pre-requisite: students should have a good understanding of what a Chinese radical is, and the stroke order and meaning of each Chinese radical in this pack
This product supports students in recognizing and practicing writing basic Chinese radicals - hand 手, person 人, foot 足, ears 耳 and mouth 口, and a short summary exercise
Each radical exercise takes up half a page, part (a) requires students to circle the characters that involve the radical in a specific color; part (b) requires students to trace the radical in each character with the specific color used in part (a) and the rest of the character in lead pencil
This way, students can practice recognizing the basic Chinese radicals and writing it in the correct stroke order
** Students should aim to circle and trace the Chinese character as neat as possible. Generally, 1 page of this radical work takes about 5-10 minutes for Year 4 students.
** Always model how you would like the work to be done to outline your expectations and ensure students understand what they need to do
In the short summary exercise, students are required to look at each character and identify the radical - e.g. 你 has a radical of "Person 人" This is what should be written in the box under the character.
