PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

The first part of this activity involves students making paper recombinant DNA molecules. Students create circular plasmids, then cut both plasmid and an insulin gene to create sticky ends.The activity illustrates the actions of restriction enzymes (scissors) and DNA ligase (tape). Part two of the activity involves students filling in a worksheet to guide them through an online simulation.
