Student read and analyze the 13th Amendment, 14th Amendment, and 15th Amendment by answering 12 questions. They also analyze 5 images related to the amendments/Reconstruction. The last 5 questions could be divided into stations and students could rotate in pairs to analyze them. The answers are included where appropriate and this could work for a sub! --Under what circumstance could slavery persist?
--Explain the consequence for a state preventing any male citizen above the age of 21 from voting.
--Discuss a difficulty, or challenge, in following through on said consequence.
--Identify a consequence for someone who wanted to be in politics but had previously been part of an insurrection. Why do you think this part of the 14th Amendment was included?
--How is the answer to question 9 specifically worded to prevent any Constitutional circumvention?
