In this highly engaging Reconstruction Amendments activity, students closely examine the text of the 13th, 14th, and 15th amendments, also known as the Reconstruction Amendments. Once students have dissected these three landmark amendments, students turn their focus to how the South responded by the passage of these amendments. Here, students examine two documents that focus on how the South responded and how the freedmen were affected.
Excellent Common Core activity and a favorite in my classes each year!
