Interested in combining math and social studies? These 20 cross-curricular task cards allow students to review their knowledge of the Reconstruction Era in Virginia as they solve math problems related to place value, rounding, and the four operations (aligned with Virginia Studies VS.8 and Virginia Mathematics SOL 4.1 and 4.4).
This is a great activity for math centers, early finishers, review, and morning work. Students can use these task cards independently, with a partner, or in a small group. They will record their answers on an answer sheet and check their work using an answer key (both are provided).
Cards 1-4: place value and comparing numbers
Cards 5-8: rounding
Cards 9-16: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division (3 with estimation)
Cards 17-20: multistep word problems
You can print the cards in color or grayscale and laminate them for durability. Directions for preparation and use are included.
