Here's a visually rich set of word wall cards/posters that you can display in your classroom as you teach your students about Virginia during Reconstruction (aligned with Virginia Studies VS.8)!
Key terms and places include: agriculture, Civil War, coal, Congress, crop, discrimination, economy, expansion, factory, freedmen, Freedmen’s Bureau, government, government agency, industry, "Jim Crow" laws, legal/legally, manufacture, medical care, plantation, poll tax, poor-quality facility, prejudice, public office, race, railroad, Reconstruction, segregation, sharecropping, tobacco, voting test, Virginia, the Union, and Tazewell County.
There is a word wall card for each of the above terms and places. In addition, there are three posters included (Reconstruction in Virginia, "Jim Crow" Laws, and Virginia's Economy Grows).
Note: there are a few duplicate cards (i.e., economy, plantation, etc.) from my other sets, since some words are used in multiple standards, but they include different definitions that are more specific to how they are used in this unit.
