This game reinforces music reading skills for students learning to play recorder. Level 2 features the notes: F*, E, and D. Ideally, it's for 2 to 4 players to play in small groups such as music centers, but it can be adapted for any size group.
(*Please note... this file uses the German fingering for F)
One game card per student
Bingo chips (or small pieces of paper)
Youngest player rolls first. Roll the die and look for the matching number on your game card. Play that pattern on your recorder. If you played it accurately, BRAVO! Cover the die on your game board with a bingo chip or piece of paper. Play proceeds to the next player. If you did not play the pattern accurately, then do not cover the die. Play proceeds to the next player. You can try that pattern again if you roll the same number later in the game.
If you land on a number that you previously rolled, then you get one more chance to roll for a different number. If you get a different number, then play that pattern. Otherwise you lose your turn and play proceeds as before.
The first person to correctly play all the patterns on his/her game card wins.
