What is Recorder Karate?
This is the third book in a positive reward system that allows the children to learn at their own pace, rewarding them with colored belts when a level is mastered.
What is added in this Book?
After finishing Book 2 they should have the basic skills in recorder playing and know the notes G,A,B,C and D, Low E, F and F#. This book adds Low D, G# Bb and C#.
As more notes are available, it is possible to use music that has a little more meat to it. So Book 3 has added backing tracks (with or without the recorder) and an easy Piano part, to enable performance at school concerts etc.
What music is used?
What are the belts made of?
You can buy ready-made belts or make your own from wool or embroidery thread. In Book 3, I add a extra pony bead to the belt to show that they are on the second book. I usually cut off the old belt and put on a clean new one on with the bead attached.
Does each child need a book?
Yes, each child needs a book to take home which is why we made this small book. Being just 3 sheets of paper, it is affordable for all schools.
