This emergent reading and writing journal was created out of need! A dear friend of mine wanted some journal pages for a unit we had just finished. But what she really wanted were journals that allowed students to practice sight words within the context of her science lessons. This set contains three different journals for students to practice using the site word can in action! Once completed, students can practice reading how they can recycle and reuse materials! Perfect for your Earth Day unit!
How to Use:
This set contains three different journal templates that have been differentiated based on student readiness with regard to writing.
The Almost Ready to Go set is for those students who need to practice using the sight word can in a sentence, but are not quite ready to write it. There is still a level of challenge here, as students have to unscramble the word and glue down into their journal.
The Just Ready to Go Group journals are for those students who can recognize the word but need practice spelling the word. The challenge for the students is to spell given the clues that have been provided. Students write the missing letters to complete the word!
The last set is the Ready to Go Group. This set is designed for those students who can write the words independently on their own. No clues are given so students have to read the sentence and fill in the word!
Directions for Use:
