Description
This set of eight art projects takes items that would be thrown in the landfill or recycling bin and turn them into art keepsakes. It is a great start to a Waste in Our World unit or Earth Day celebration. These projects generally use supplies that are found in most classrooms.
This resource is part of our Waste in Our World Science Unit.
This waste-free resource includes:
- eight different art projects (each one can usually be completed within a few hours from start to the end of clean-up, though some need to dry overnight).
- complete lesson plans with step-by-step instructions with modifications to differentiate for your students (or your available supplies).
- photographs of student examples.
- reflection pages for students in English and French.
- instructions to minimize prep work and clean up.
- art projects designed for the "not-an-art-teacher" generalist (meaning they don't require you to have a lot of specialized art skills).
- an artist study activity to learn about artists that use recycled materials in their works of art.
Be sure to view the preview for examples of the lessons. Please help us keep materials out of the landfill by using it digitally. :)
