This is a short and easy activity for teaching students to say no to peer pressure and make their own choices. I use this activity with 1st graders; it is age appropriate and does not discuss drugs and alcohol.
Included is discussion about choices and consequences; a paragraph, story example relevant to young students; and then an activity where students can say vote if something is a good choice or poor choice. There are 12 scenarios; I use red and green cards (a popsicle stick with circles glued to the top-green on one side, red on the other) and students hold up red for bad, green for good. You could easily adapt that to sit or stand, this side or that, etc.
