To prepare for the test as a general plot review, students complete 35 fill-in-the-blank examples from the novel.
Second, the students analyze several important quotes from the book; twenty are provided.
Third, students examine how persuasion is used in both a positive way and a negative way.
I have used these activities as homework and also as collaborative activities. They also provide students a way to study for a comprehensive test without reading the novel again. Finally, by completing this work, students show me who has read the book and who has just read online summaries.
