This is a reference page that I give my students as they are crossing over to story writing. I begin with them pronouncing each word. Then we look at a picture together as a class and talk about what we see in English. We start to look at the writing process and how we could begin to write a story in Spanish about the picture, using the reference page to help us. Next, we write the story together as a group on the board in the front of the room in Spanish.
It is a nice transition for the students to begin writing on their own, and the reference page removes some of the apprehension. Also, the group write helps students to feel more confident and models the process so they are ready when it comes time to be independent.
