Why use this resource?
Using this document to reflect and plan for your service as a whole, separate classrooms or individual children provides evidence that you are basing your practice on the Early Years Learning Framework which is required under the National Quality Standards under Quality Area 1: Educational program and practice.
1.1 An approved learning framework informs the development of a curriculum that enhances each child’s learning and development
1.2 Educators and co-ordinators are focused, active and reflective in designing and delivering the program for each child
This document can also be used as part of a Quality Improvement Plan (QIP) in an early childhood setting such as long day care, family day care and preschool.
What is included:
*The first pages are initial overviews of the five outcomes of the Early Years Learning Framework. This is where you can reflect on what you do well and what you can improve on for each outcome overall.
*The next pages are where you can go into detail for each outcome and reflect or plan on each element within it. This provides evidence of how you provide for each element in each outcome, or allows you to plan for it.
*Each page is fully editable to suit your service’s needs. You can include as much or as little information for each section as required. *Within this file are two documents, one has each element in a box to comment on. For a less detailed version, the second document uses a single box for each subheading in the outcome.
