"Reflections on The Selfie" turns the camera back on senior or college students. SNAP.
It asks them to consider both the modern phenomenon's deeply-rooted cultural meanings about identity and performance, and to compare The Selfie form to major movements in Art History.
This lesson culminates with a research-based comparison essay. See the last slide of my preview for details.
I use this lesson with grade twelve English students, but it can easily be modified for a variety of subject-disciplines and learning levels.
