These Reflective Journal prompts are ideal for teachers who are currently using or thinking of using portfolios in their classrooms. Using this journal, students are able to reflect on their learning on any subject area and express it in their own terms.
I was inspired to write and apply these reflective journals in my classroom by one of my past colleagues and it really helped my students delve into deeper thinking.
Each reflection prompt considers the varying levels in Bloom's Taxonomy and gradually eases students into each one, little by little. In my classes, I used to hand these out on the Friday so that students would have the weekend to really think about what they have taken away from the learning. It is fully editable, please do adapt it to suit your needs and do as you see fit.
