This resource is a fully differentiated lesson aimed at teaching Physics: Waves. This lesson looks at the basics of what causes refraction and the relationship between the angle of incidence and the angle of refraction.

*Describe how to measure the angle of incidence and angle of refraction for a simple refraction.
*Explain how to construct a ray diagram showing the refraction of light at a boundary between two different materials.
*Apply your understanding to explain how the refraction of light can cause the depth of a material to appear less than it actually is.
*Link your understanding of refraction and the visible light spectrum to explain the dispersion of light through a prism in terms of different changes of speed for different wavelengths of light.
