After reading the Atlantic article, "What Should the U.S. Do About Refugee Resettlement?," as a class, students will jigsaw the current US Refugee Policy according to the American Immigration Council. This documents includes the links to both documents and questions that probe students to think about our current policies pro's and con's, as well as consider what the idea Refugee Policy should look like. It asks students to evaluate, take ethical stances, consider consequences, collaborate and communicate. This activity would be best paired with a historical study or larger project surrounding immigration at the 11th - 12th grade. It also includes a group rubric score/feedback form for teacher use during student presentations.
