I developed this packet for my learners who remained confused about regrouping after completing Module 1. They needed more support to learn how to regroup the Common Core way, and especially how to represent it with math drawings and mini number bonds.
This 30 page workbook/packet walks your learners through learning to regroup the Common Core way without all the fluff.
It begins with adding to cross ten and taking from ten using pictorial representations paired with number sentences for addition and subtraction within 20.
Learners are then introduced to a single digit number added to or subtracted from 2 digit numbers and the thought process required for working with the tens and ones when regrouping.
This highly supportive resource is intended for reteaching, alternate practice or homework pages, special education or AIS/Remedial Math students. Your students will have practice with the different kinds of problems that require regrouping and have plenty of work with the pictorial. You, of course, could also present concrete models for concept development.
Presentation of skills is sequential and build upon one another. Fluency practice for partners of ten is built into some of the pages. It includes some practice pages for nderstanding numbers, using place value charts and quick tens. uPages provide ample room for drawing.
Check my store for other resources, including a step back to workmats and practice pages for making ten to add within 20 and taking from the ten to subtract within 20. I also have a similar product for Module 3 as well as additional place value resources.
