This power point presentation tells the story of the gray wolf recovery program in Yellowstone National Park.
Predators are part of the natural ecosystem, but wolves had been nearly wiped out in the lower 48 states. In the 1990's, wolves were captured and returned to Yellowstone National Park.
This presentation is a good launchpad for discussion of ecosystems and balance, or as part of a study of wolves.
Included is a link to a video showing gray wolves with their pups. Reference websites are included at the end.
I use this as an introduction to the subject, then have the students do some further research on their own.
