This 6 page lesson uses word problems, arrays and drawing pictures to help introduce dividing to your students by relating it to multiplication. It should be used at the beginning of your division unit. The lesson is broken into five sections. In Baltimore County, we call this a 5E lesson. Each "E" stands for a piece of learning throughout the lesson. The "5E's" are engage, explore, explain, extend and evaluate. The evaluation piece of this lesson is broken into eight questions. The questions included in the evaluation piece will ask your students to write related multiplication and division facts for various examples of pictures and arrays.
