Relationship Triage - Staff Development - Building Relationships, EMR, Clay Cook

Description
This is a one-page graphic organizer for staff development.
This activity asks teachers to list their students on a tree based on how easy it is to build a relationship.
Then, the activity asks staff to highlight a few students at the top of the tree - students who require the most effort, the most work, and the least chance of success. Similar to a triage unit at a hospital, teachers must focus what time they have to build relationships with these students.
This activity asks teachers to reflect on how well they are establishing and maintaining relationships with their students. The activity is based on a presentation by the University of Minnesota researcher Clay Cook.
