This is a 15 slide, highly animated, power point presentation on Children’s Bible Stories – Daniel in the Lion’s Den. Each of the slides are editable so you can modify the slides to the presentation as needed. I have also included a slide called “Think about the Story” for student review and questions.
Long ago, Daniel and 3 of his friends, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were living in a place called Babylon. When Darius became the king of Babylon, he appointed 120 princes to help rule his kingdom. He also appointed 3 men to rule the 120 princes. Daniel was selected to be 1 of the 3 men to rule over the princes.
King Darius liked Daniel so much, that he wanted to make him the next ruler of Persia when he died. But, the other leaders didn't like that plan. They were angry and jealous of Daniel, so they plotted and schemed against Daniel every day but could find no fault with him but knew that he prayed every day to his God. They finally said among themselves, "The only way we could get him to disobey the king is if we made a law against his god."
So, they wrote a new law to present to the king. It said, “for the next 30 days, any person found praying to anyone or anything except King Darius would be thrown into a den of HUNGRY lions.” King Darius had no idea that his favorite prince, Daniel, prayed to God 3 times every single day and that the other princes were trying to lay a trap to get him into trouble.
The men tricked the King into having Daniel thrown into a den of hungry lions but Miraculously delivered Daniel without harm. The king was overjoyed and immediately released Daniel, had the others thrown into the den and declared that now everyone in his kingdom must worship Daniel’s God.
