Easter: Part 7 – Jesus Goes to Heaven and Sends Help! This is part 7 of 7 on the children’s version of the Easter Story. Each of the slides are editable so you can modify the slides to the presentation as needed.
The disciples, they were amazed that Jesus had risen from the dead and was with them. Sometimes they would just reach out and touch him hardly believing that he was alive once again. They knew that because Jesus could rise from the dead, that somehow everything would be alright.
Jesus told the disciples that it was time to go home to His Father. He said, “There is a place for you to live with me again and I will go and get it ready.” Suddenly the whole sky was filled with a dazzling light. And something amazing happened. Jesus began to rise up into the air higher and higher! They shaded their eyes and watched him go until a cloud hid Jesus so they couldn’t see him anymore.
Jesus friends went back to Jerusalem with a strange gladness in their hearts. Something Jesus said stuck with them. “Even though you won’t be able to see me anymore, I will never leave you. I will be with you always and forever!”
While waiting and praying for Jesus to send a promised gift, suddenly, a strong wind filled the room and there over everyone’s head were flickering flames. Something more happened. Inside their hearts they felt a warmth like a coldness and hardness was melting away. It was like God was giving them a brand new heart and a boldness that gave them the strength to become his witnesses!
The wonderful news of Jesus spread like sparks to villages, towns and cities all over the world! So God’s family of followers grew so big that we can be part of it, even today.
