This is a 19 slide, highly animated, powerpoint presentation on Religion – Children’s Bible Stories - Parable of Jesus – The Prodigal Son. Each of the slides are editable and can be reordered to adjust to your presentation, if needed. I have also included a slide called “Think about the Story” for student review and questions.
There once was a father that had 2 sons. One day the younger son said to his father, "Father, could you give me my inheritance?" So the father, who was very wealthy, thought about it and decided his sons could have the money now and gave both sons money.
Very soon after the younger son received the money, he decided that since he had so much money he would move to a different country and have some fun with it. While the son was gone he spent all the money he had right away. He didn't think to save any of it. He bought fancy things, he threw wild parties and spent money on all kinds of things that God wouldn't be happy with.
After he had spent all his money, the country he was living in had a famine and there was hardly any food around. On the verge of starvation. he finally came to his senses and decided to go back home and work as a servant for his father, whim he hoped would take him back.
When he got near his father’s house he was shocked to see his father running out to meet him. He was embraced with love and welcomed home as if nothing ever happened. His father said, “Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. Bring the biggest calf and kill it. Let's have a party and celebrate because my son was lost and is found!"
