This is a 29 slide, highly animated, power point presentation on Religion - Heroes of the Old Testament - Daniel - Prophet of the Exile. Each of the slides are editable so you can modify the slides if you need to.

The biblical account of Daniel, the prophet begins as he and many other young men from Judah were taken captive by King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon (Daniel 1:1-4) in approximately 604 BC and sent into exile. This Babylonian Exile lasted for 70 years, as God had foretold through the prophet Jeremiah earlier (Jeremiah 25:11).

Arriving as a teen, Daniel, not only survived but, rose to serve in prominent positions in the governments of several Babylonian and Medo-Persian rulers, including Nebuchadnezzar II, Belshazzar, Darius and Cyrus the Great. Because Daniel possessed wisdom bestowed by God and was conscientious in his work, he not only prospered during the reigns of successive rulers, but King Darius planned to put him in charge of the entire kingdom.

The book of Daniel in the Bible contains 2 of the best-loved stories in the Bible: Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego in the fiery furnace and Daniel in the lions' den. It's also a gold mine of prophecy, ancient history, and lessons about trusting God. The angel Gabriel, who visited Daniel to give him insight and understanding, was the same angel who later appeared to the virgin Mary telling her she would bear the Savior, Jesus.

Daniel prophesied as moved by God through visions and dreams about what was going to happen throughout history, including what would happen to Daniel’s people in the “latter days” (Daniel 10:14) and to the whole world. Those prophecies include: Four World-Ruling Empires, The Kingdom of God,A Little Horn, The 70 Weeks, Abomination of Desolation and The End of Time.

MUCH OF THE BOOK OF DANIEL IS PROPHETIC, HIGHLY SYMBOLIC AND CONTROVERSIAL. THE INTENT OF THIS PRESENTATION IS TO REPORT THE STORY OF DANIEL AS HISTORICAL FACT WHILE LEAVING THE INTERPRETATION OF PROPHESIES TO RELIGIOUS SCHOLARS.

The presentation covers the following:
