Product Description
This is a 19 slide, highly animated, power point presentation on Religion – Heroes of the Old Testament – Samuel. Each of the slides are editable so you can modify the slides if you need to.

Samuel was a man chosen for God, from his miraculous birth until his death. He served in several important positions during his life, earning God's favor because he knew how to obey. The story of Samuel is really the story of 3 people; Hannah, his mother, Eli, his mentor and Samuel.

Hannah, like several other women in Scripture, was childless and desperately wanted a child. People in ancient Israel believed that a large family was a blessing from God. Infertility, was then a source of humiliation and shame. To make matters worse, her husband's other wife not only bore children but taunted Hannah mercilessly.

Hannah had made a promise to God that if she bore a son, she would give him back for God's service. Hannah followed through on that promise. She handed her young child Samuel over to Eli for training as a priest. He became one of Israel’s fines and served faithfully for many years.

In his farewell speech, the aged Samuel warned the people to give up idols and serve the true God. He told them if they and King Saul disobeyed, God would sweep them away. But Saul did disobey, offering a sacrifice himself instead of waiting for God's priest, Samuel, to do it. God was so grieved that he rejected Saul and chose another king. Samuel then anointed the young shepherd David to be the next king of Israel.
