This is a four part unit by Reading Through History. It includes summaries and questions which cover religion in the American colonies. The topics include Cotton Mather, Jonathan Edwards and his "Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God" sermon, the Salem Witch Trials, and the First Great Awakening. Each reading is followed by a set of student activities to gauge reading comprehension, content retention, and vocabulary skills. Each lesson also contains a student response essay question. There is enough material to cover 2-4 days of class, depending on if one or two lessons are completed in a class period.
