This is a DBQ for the European Religious Wars during the 16th and 17th centuries. The skills developed though this in class writing activity include: assessing the document, grouping documents as well as contextualization. Students begin to write topic sentences that are debatable, nuanced and responsive to the prompt.
I have included a model response so that students, after they have tried writing their own, can see what a student who will get a 5 would write for this type of task. It is important to show students the positive example.
