Do you have difficulty designing meaningful Remembrance Day activities?
Looking for something that wont take too long?
This Remembrance Day art lesson provides students with an opportunity to learn and reflect using the poppy as a metaphor for peace (younger students) or for veterans and their families. The students work together to build poppies, and then reflect on how the patchwork poppies can be used to drive understanding of what can be a tricky topic.
Easy, no prep, and requiring simple materials, this activity can be completed in as little as 15 minutes, but can expand depending on the time available to you.
Ideas for display, extension, writing, and bulletin boards are also included.
