PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

A variety of writing activities to use for Remembrance Day.

Students read the poem In Flanders Fields, and answer reflection questions about how it makes them feel, what line they think is the most powerful, and why this poem is read on Remembrance Day. Brainstorming additional words to add to the Remembrance Day Word Bank students write a thank you letter to a veteran, fallen soldier, or peacekeeper. There is a choice of either a 'Thank You' or 'Peace' poppy writing activity, where students fill in the petals with things they are thankful for, or what they think peace is. Students can also write an acrostic poem for the word PEACE.

These activities might also be applicable for Veterans Day.
