I first read about Remind in 2014.
Many articles and blogs were describing/reviewing current, popular teacher apps. Remind was free. There were no web sites to log on, no voicemail messages to check, privacy protection for my personal phone number and those of my students’ families was built in... I was hooked! Oh, and did I mention Remind is FREE?!
I wanted a way to add another layer of communication with my students and their families, NOT replace things I was already using.
Remind allowed me to encourage use of my classroom web site as a resource outside of school, announce upcoming tests and suggest ways to prepare for them, trigger conversation starters at home, notify families of emergencies, stay in touch during class field trips, and much more!
The text messages that follow on each portion of the Presentation, serve as classroom-tested examples for ways to use Remind, and come directly from my Remind Message History feed.
