This assignment is an introduction to the Renaissance period/Renaissance Unit which usually comes up in March or April (this is how I used it in any case). Although I assigned it to my English class, it may be used for History as well. Students use their imagination and reasoning skills to create a title for the art piece (even if they know the official title) and respond to the art piece overall. The criteria for the response is identified in the directions at the top of the handout. There are six (6) pages/art pieces.
