In this 2 day/1 block culminating activity, students review what they have learned about the European Renaissance by completing posters--"Michelangelo style"-- that focus on 6 essential questions about the Renaissance. The posters students complete are taped underneath desks and tables, and the answers must be DRAWN, not written. Engaging and thought-provoking, this activity requires students to apply all they have learned about the Renaissance. This resource contains 2 DO NOW/anticipatory activities: 1. Questions that accompany a poem written by Michelangelo about the process of painting the Sistine Chapel and 2. a discussion cube about the Renaissance. The packet also includes an exit card for day 1 and a reflective, summative questions. These final questions are tiered: 3 copies are included, allowing the teacher to challenge all students appropriately. Also included are all directions, copies of the essential questions, and a rubric for scoring.
