The Renewable Energy Lesson and Shark Tank Project is a great way to introduce renewable and nonrenewable energy sources to students! In this lesson and project as the teacher you will introduce renewable and nonrenewable energy resources to the students through a discussion about energy. Students will then take what they have learned about energy sources and participate in a mock "Shark Tank" (based off the popular TV show) where they will use their knowledge of renewable energy sources to create/modify a device that will harness a renewable energy source.
Students will present to the Sharks (you the teacher as well as one student from each group not presenting). You can rotate students so that each student gets to be part of the "Shark" evaluation.
The Renewable energy lesson includes:
*Teacher instructions for the project
*Student project instruction sheet
*United States Energy Consumption Chart (for class discussion in the lesson plan)
*Shark Tank Presentation Grade Card
My students really enjoy using the Shark Tank style presentation projects to follow up content we have learned in class. Godspeed!
