This a great activity for helping struggling readers. I have used this activity with kids ranging from 1st grade up to 8th.
What is Repeated Reading?
-Act of reading a short text that is at the student's reading level, multiple times, over a period of several days.
-It is used to give the student repeated exposure to sight words, and helps them increase their fluency (WPM-words per minute that are correct)
Reasons for Repeated Reading:
-Boosts sight word recognition.
-Helps increase fluency.
-Increases the amount of time students are reading.
-Gives you a chance to bond with students over reading.
-Creates a source of enjoyment and success with reading.
Included in this packet
