What educators are saying

This book was a fun way to talk about wearing a mask in school. This is something I will continue to use as new students start in my early intervention classroom.
I love every single one of Anna’s resources. So versatile and so engaging!!! A must have for back to school treatment activities

Description

Get your preschool students ready for back to school by helping them understand the importance of wearing a mask, while working on their language goals! This book is perfect for students with Apraxia of Speech, Language Delays, or articulation or phonological delays.

Make learning about wearing masks fun and less intimidating for your little learners with this playful, interactive, and repetitive story book!

On each of the eight pages, a character is in a public place and doesn't have a mask on! Your student is able to choose a colourful mask for the character. The story discusses how it is important to cover the character's mouth and nose.  The text is simple and clear so your young students can understand.

In addition to raising awareness about the importance of masks, this story provides ample opportunities to target:

SENTENCE LENGTH: Have the student use the carrier phrase “I want” when choosing the mask they want.

CONCEPTS: ON/OFF: Talk about whether the character has their mask on or off.

PRONOUNS: Talk about the characters in the story and WHO needs a mask.

RHYMING: Point out the rhyming words in the playful text.

WHERE QUESTIONS: Ask the student where each character is.
