Often times the report cards for each reporting period are very broad to cover the standards and expectations. This document allows you to give parents and students specific feedback about the content that was covered. Here's how to use it:
1. Change each subject area to reflect the learning objectives/targets taught and learned.
2. Change the "grade" numbers and expectations key to reflect your formal report card.
3. Then, ask students to grade themselves using the work and evidence to support their assessment of themselves.
4. Finally, add the grades they should receive based on your assessment of the work and evidence.
Students then lead the conference and use this sheet to guide the discussion for each subject area. It's very eye-opening to see how some students think very highly of their work while others are very hard on themselves. Parents appreciate the specific feedback and it helps them know what they can help with.
P.S. The formatting can get crazy when using this document. If you have trouble, just let me know and I can help you out!
