Report Writing Guide: Year 1 (English and Mathematics)
Are you a new graduate teacher, a teacher returning to the profession or a relief teacher for Term 4 (lucky you!)?
With reports on the horizon, I know how stressful it can be!
This resource has been created with you in mind and provides examples of how to word your reports using the standards in the Australian Curriculum in the areas of English and Mathematics.
It is an easy-to-use resource, with comments for each content strand, written in three general categories: above average, average and below average. The Mathematics comments also incorporate vocabulary pertaining to the proficiency strands.
This is an extremely useful tool and will save you hours of work!
An example of an English comment:
Samantha is able to recognise all sound-letter matches covered this semester, including common vowel and consonant diagraphs. She demonstrates some active listening behaviours and interaction skills, but has the tendency to be easily distracted in class. Samantha is beginning to understand the importance of narrative features such as plot and setting and has enjoyed exploring some features of characterisation in various activities undertaken this semester. (BE SURE TO COMMENT ON THE CHILD’S EFFORT OVER THE SEMESTER!)
