Oh How They Grow

Writing boxes are activities that your students can use to practise writing skills they have learnt during class.

This resource is a tool to help teach young learners how to structure a simple report. You can use this as a teaching tool to begin with and then use as an independent practice activity so that your students are regularly reminded of how a simple report is structured.

This writing box is a series of colour coded sentence starter cards that the students use to create their own reports. This is a great tool for reluctant writers or students that struggle to think of how to start or what to write about!

This resource contains:

  • Labels for your writing box
  • Examples to show how to write a report
  • Colour coded sentence starter cards (for the beginning, middle and end of a report)
  • Fact cards to help your students when they don't know what to write about
  • Lined writing paper
