Reporting problems can be a challenging task for some students. This set includes three versions, as well as corresponding activities, to help your students learn about the vocabulary necessary for reporting problems. These books are perfect for beginning/young readers, special education students, and students needing extra assistance when reading. This product is a great addition to a classroom library, but can also be used in coordination with specific lessons about assisting students in reporting problems.
Reporting Problems Social Story (3 versions)
Reporting Problems Task Cards
There are three versions included in this set.
*Version 1 does not have interactive pieces. Students are focusing on learning the vocabulary associated with reporting problems. There are corresponding icons used in this version to help the students learn how to report specific problems.
*Version 2 also does not have interactive pieces. Students are continuing to learn the vocabulary associated with reporting problems, however corresponding icons are not included to assist them in reporting problems.
*Version 3 includes interactive pieces. Students are answering "what happened" questions about the image on each page. Students are identifying a related/identical image to match to each page, while reviewing the vocabulary associated with each page.
To use the task cards, students will look at the picture and decide which statement should be used to describe the problem on the task card. They can use clothespins, a marker, etc to make their answers.
These conversation cards, that are provided with and without images, can be used to build sentences using the books as a model, or as a separate activity from the books. This works to expand the students' understanding of the vocabulary being used.
