Place your students on the battlefield during the War of 1812 and have them craft a complete magazine that highlights all of the major campaigns and personalities involved. In this project based instruction the students will be tasked with working together to create and edit a finished magazine that they will share in class. This is not a complete lesson, but if used as a means of primary instruction the students will learn through inquiry and discover the battles, hardship and triumphs of the War of 1812. You are purchasing a project template that includes instructions and grading rubric. I have also included a web map for the causes of the war, a brief PowerPoint that highlights the major campaigns and student examples of each component of the project. Your students will definitely be engaged as they report the story from the front line!
