### PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

My students were having difficulty transitioning from representing fractions on the number line to representing mixed numbers on the number line (particularly, which two whole numbers a mixed number is between). I created this resource to help students relate the mixed number model to representing a mixed number on the number line. For example, in 3 1/4 there are three full wholes colored in and 1/4 of the 4th whole is colored in; this means that 3 1/4 is between 3 and 4 on the number line.

There are eight matching sets (eight mixed numbers and eight corresponding visual representations). Print multiple copies, cut out, laminate, and you’re ready to go! This activity is perfect for a review center with partners, a quick individual check for understanding, or an activity for intervention. I have provided an entirely blank set that work perfectly as a quick check after using the matching activity as a center!
