This bundle contains all of the Reproduction of Flowering Plants products, which includes:
This interactive, differentiated activity teaches students to identify the structures of flowering plants and their functions in relation to reproduction. Students will search the classroom for fact cards and then complete an activity (or activities) using the information. There are several options for activities, including a question sheet that requires students to read the card and then answer questions based on the information and a vocabulary sheet where students write a definition for each vocabulary word that is in bold on the fact card (the sheet can then be used for notes in their interactive notebook or other note keeping place). Additionally, there is a second vocabulary matching sheet where students color the vocabulary word and definition the same color/pattern to show they match. This also can be used as notes. Also included is a flower diagram that can be labeled based on the verbal clues given on the fact cards. The diagram sheet also includes an activity using the functions/definition of each flower part. Choose which sheet to use based on the grade level, ability level, or differentiation needed for your students. If you want to use multiple options for all/some of your students, there is a “variety” sheet that contains multiple options. Or, you can mix and match your own by printing/copying your options two to a page and/or front and back. All of the pages (except the variety page) have half-page options which can be used to create your own combinations or are the perfect size for interactive notebooks. Answer keys have been provided.
Review or reinforce learning of the reproduction of flowering plants with this game students will love. The game is perfect for use at a center, as a cooperative learning activity, or even as a whole class activity. This game is based on the board game "Taboo." The object of the game is for students to give clues to get their team to guess the most words before time runs out. Students must be careful not to say any of the taboo (forbidden) words listed on each card. There are two sets of cards included: a challenging set and an easier set. Choose the set you need based on the age or ability level of your students, or use both sets to offer differentiation for multiple ability levels in one class.
This Tic-Tac-Toe style choice board allows students to create various products in order to demonstrate their knowledge of the reproduction of flowering plants. The options include a crossword puzzle, comic strip, acrostic poem, artwork, diary entry, thank you letter, campaign speech, play, and picture word art. This activity allows students the ability to choose the types of activities that appeal to them most as well as challenges them with higher order thinking skills. It is also a great way to integrate language arts and art skills into the science classroom. Templates for each option on the choice board (except the play) are included as well as two rubric options for assessment purposes.
The Flower Dissection offers an excellent way to apply students' knowledge of the reproduction of flowering plants. It has a lab sheet with instructions and higher order reflection questions for each step of the dissection. In order to give options for differentiation or younger students, two other versions of the lab sheet are included, one with easier, simplified questions, and another with simply the dissection and a few questions. An answer key for the questions on the lab sheets is included as well as tips and instructions for the teacher. Also included are four follow-up activities and resources needed for the activities (flower diagram, reproductive parts vocabulary, and definition cards).
