This is a note taking guide students may fill out while viewing my 68 slide PowerPoint about reptiles that may be purchased separately. It begins by listing the characteristics that all reptiles share. It then divides reptiles into four groups: Turtles and tortoises, lizards, snakes, and alligators and crocodiles. It then discusses each of those four groups.
For turtles and tortoises, similar characteristics are given. Next, there is a chart that shows how they are different. It asks students to guess the largest and smallest species. Students are then given pictures and they are to guess whether it is a turtle or tortoise.
Characteristics of lizards are given. Students guess is the smallest, biggest, weirdest ability, the only poisonous, fastest, and the only reptile that can change its color to match its surroundings. Answers and pictures are provided.
The characteristics of snakes are next. Again, students attempt to answer questions about some special snake species.
Alligators and crocodiles are then described. Included is a chart to show the differences between the two groups.
