It's time to rescue math from the BORINGS! Students will enjoy practicing their number sense with these rescue cards. This activity was created for second graders (SOL 2.1ac) but can be used for 1st and 3rd grades as well.
These cards can be used in a variety of ways:
*You could use them to partner your students - half the class gets base ten block cards and the other half get standard cards, they have to find their partner by making a pair.
*Students can play a memory style game and try to make matches.
*Students can sort and match up the pairs
*You could practice ordering numbers (greatest to least) by using the number cards or base ten cards.
There are three pages of 2 digit numbers and base ten cards and three pages of 3-digit numbers. Feel free to use both sets or just one.
I’ve also included a base ten anchor chart to help students as they’re working.
If you enjoyed this product, please leave feedback - it's a win-win for both of us!
