This is a model Science Fair research paper in Word.doc form. Make it available to your students and get ready to be amazed at how everyone in your class can create an annotated research paper for their project. Not only will your students be thanking you for years that you taught them how to create a collegiate level research paper, a skill they will use for life, but the stress on you to teach this skill is almost non-existent.
Basically, students delete parts from the sample paper and replace them with their own information from their project. Post it on your classroom website or class email and wait for simple clarification questions. In addition, there is a sample paper with arrowed notes for each part of the paper. This can be used to explain what goes where. You may choose to change either of these sample papers to fit the format you need. This is simply the perfect vehicle to wean students off of copying and on to referencing real research writing.
At one point or another, students stop doing demonstrations and start experimenting. This is a must for just that type of student.
