The three activities explore Shakespeare's motives for writing--and rewriting--the Amleth/Hamlet story. Students will write and perform a "dream scene" in which Saxo appears to the sleeping Will to accuse him of "copyright infringement". They will also work in groups to create art projects which examine key quotations from the text. The "letters" assignment is a research paper in which students address what they have learned in a letter to the Bard himself. Links to seven scholarly sources are provided as well as links on play writing and a rubric for student plays.
