I use this as a precursor to the full research process when I teach Shakespeare's Julius Caesar. You can use it as a webquest, team building activity, a way to make students more informed about Rome for either Literature or History courses, or you can actually use this as a starting point for a straightforward research paper.
There are five separate topics and handouts in this document. You can have students work alone, in pairs, or have students with similar topics work together in groups after researching independently.
My advice if you plan to do this during the school day is to upload the five different handouts separately to your website so students can type directly into the files AND the links will be there in easy access so they won't have to type them all out. Or, you can print the handouts but copy and paste the website links up on your website.
