PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Are you looking for a creative way to integrate research, writing, and presenting? Are you interested in creating exciting group projects in your classroom? This fun, real-world project does just that.

The CCSS aligned project combines research, writing, and speaking and listening skills with high-interest social action. Students will find a social issue of interest, research the issue, and then create a fictitious nonprofit organization to raise awareness among teens about the selected issue. Students will then work together to create a multimedia presentation.

This project utilizes all of the reading standards, many of the writing and speaking and listening standards from Common Core. This project is multilayered and can be adjusted to include more support for students who need it, and more independence for those that are ready to go.

I have used this project with ALL of my ELA students, both gifted and struggling students with great success. Get started today with this comprehensive project bundle. Bundle includes student handouts, timeline for completion, mini-lessons and tip sheets, project rubric, peer feedback form, and project reflection sheet. As written, the project does require access to computers for student use.
